Today, the Seychelles Coast Guard proudly welcomed SCGS LESPWAR, a modern Fast Patrol Vessel generously donated by the Government of the Republic of India to the Republic of Seychelles during an official handing-over ceremony at the Seychelles Coast Guard Base, Ile Perseverance.
The ceremony was graced by the President and Commander in Chief of the Seychelles Defence Forces, Dr Patrick Herminie and His Excellency Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India, underscoring the strong and enduring partnership between our two nations.
Designed to enhance maritime surveillance, law enforcement, search and rescue and the protection of Seychelles’ Exclusive Economic Zone, SCGS LESPWAR represents a significant boost to the operational capabilities of the Seychelles Coast Guard.
The occasion also highlighted the shared commitment of Seychelles and India to maritime security, regional stability and continued cooperation built on friendship, trust and mutual respect.
