Terms of Engagement
Initial Contract. Candidates desirous of serving the country as a member of the Defence Forces, in the category of Enlisted Soldiers, will undertake an Initial Contract of Six Years on enrolment. This will include period spent in training and will start on their respective enrolment date.
Subsequent Contracts. All subsequent contracts will be of two years each, however, they shall be linked to retirement and to future promotions, so as to regulate a smooth flow of manpower.
Basic Salary and Remuneration
Enlisted ranks
- Recruits SR 7758
- Privates SR 8349
- Lance Corporal to Warrant Officers SR 9282 onwards
All personnel also receive:
Duty Allowance SR1500
Transport Allowance SR 300
Education Allowance (SQA table)
Supplementation Allowance (Based on post)
Subsistence/ displacement Allowance – Posted/ deputed on duties outside Mahé
All officers also receive:
