Today, Seychelles Defence Forces honour the bravery, tenacity, and willpower of all its service personnel. As we commemorate this remarkable day, we take pride in the fact that our Defence Forces are a singular representation of our strength and togetherness. I can confidently say that our Forces most significant asset and organizational cornerstone are the men and women in uniform, and our supportive civilian staff. state.

May we never forget that the main reason we chose this line of work is to protect and defend our country. Today, this calls for even greater emphasis on the safeguard of our Sovereignty by remaining alert to newly emerging threats that may affect the prime condition for development, which is securing Peace and Stability.

On reflecting on this day, we reaffirm our commitment to having dynamic and modernized Defence Forces suited to represent our country at the highest level, whilst maintaining existing relationships with all civil authorities as well as honoring and maintaining our international engagements.

On such an occasion, it is crucial that the society is educated about the Seychelles Defence Forces, its significance, and its applicability in our society and in this modern interconnected world. Raising awareness on the mission and purpose of SDF will help society to better understand and appreciate the role of which it serves. The scarifies made and the hardships borne are deserving of immeasurable gratitude and respect.

To all Officers, Warrant Officers, Non-commission officers, Other ranks, Civilian Staff of the Seychelles Defence Forces, our veterans and families of service personnel; I wish you all a Happy Defence Forces Day.
