RELIGIOUS SERVICE TO COMMEMORATE DEFENCE FORCES DAY

Saint Andrew’s Church in Cascade morning hosted a special mass in commemoration of those men and women who have served and those currently serving in the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF).

The service, which was held in observance of Defence Forces Day, which has been observed on November 25 every year since 1982, drew a large congregation. Parish priest Father Eric Leon and Deacon Louis Agathine, who is also a member of the force, presided over the service.

In attendance were Mr. Philip Monthy, a member of the National Assembly for Cascade, SDF Chief of Staff Colonel Jean Attala, members of the Defence Forces council, and members of the force along with their families and friends.

In addition to their vital duty in defending the land, sea, and air, Father Eric Leon urged the service members to seek spiritual guidance throughout their service.

The religious service is the first of many activities organized by the Defence Forces Day committee to celebrate the 46th anniversary and existence of Seychelles Defence Forces.
