After completing basic training at the Military Training Support Centre in Barbarons, twenty-one new recruits have joined the Seychelles Defence Forces.

The ceremony took place at the Military Training Support Centre, Ile Perseverance, in the presence of Chief of Defence Forces Brigadier Michael Rosette, SDF officers, and new recruits’ relatives.

Private Terry Octobre received the award for Best Overall Performer among the 21 recruits, while Private Jean Luc Figaro was awarded Best Academic Performer and Private Rico Bertrand Fred was recognised Best Outdoor Performer.
2Lt Dylan Renaud received his certificate upon completing the platoon commander course.

The CDF exhorted the new privates to maintain strict discipline and loyalty to their assigned responsibilities. He also remarked that the SDF offers numerous chances for self-development and encouraged people to pursue them. CDF also asked force members to mentor these new soldiers and provide essential knowledge and expertise.

The new privates will now be allotted to their preferred units.
