CHIEF OF DEFENCE FORCES ATTENDS SHANGRI-LA DIALOGUE 2026
The Chief of Defence Forces of the Seychelles Defence Forces, Major General Michael Rosette, attended the Shangri-La Dialogue 2026, held in Singapore from 29 to 31 May 2026.
Hosted annually by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), the Shangri-La Dialogue is widely regarded as the premier defence and security summit in the Asia-Pacific region. The forum brings together defence ministers, military leaders, policymakers and strategic experts from across the Asia-Pacific, North America, Europe, the Middle East and other regions to discuss pressing security challenges, exchange perspectives and explore policy responses to emerging threats. The Dialogue also provides valuable opportunities for bilateral and multilateral engagements among participating nations.
This year’s summit focused on the theme of building a stable, secure and inclusive Indo-Pacific amid intensifying geopolitical competition, overlapping global crises and ongoing instability in the Middle East. Discussions addressed a range of strategic issues, including regional security dynamics, defence cooperation, maritime security and the evolving international security landscape.
Major General Rosette was accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Jude Raoul during the event.
