PS Zoroaster Returns Home Following Successful International Deployment and Extensive Refit in India
Following a successful and extensive overhaul in India, SCGS Zoroaster arrived alongside the Seychelles Coast Guard Jetty today, Saturday 13 June 2026, marking a significant milestone for the vessel and her dedicated crew.
PS Zoroaster departed Seychelles in January 2026 and embarked on an important deployment to India, where she first participated in Exercise MILAN 2026 and the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2026 at Visakhapatnam. Following these engagements, the vessel underwent an extensive refit at the Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) Shipyard in Kolkata, India.
Under the command of Captain Lyndon Lablache, the vessel returned home with her 21-member crew, including three female sailors, after nearly six months away from Seychelles.
Upon arrival, the crew was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces (DCDF), Brigadier General Jean Attala, Commander of the Seychelles Coast Guard (COMSCG), Lieutenant Colonel David Arissol, SDF Unit Commanders, Senior Staff Officers and members of the Coast Guard leadership.
As part of the welcoming ceremony, the SDF Force Chaplain, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Louis Agathine, offered a special prayer of thanksgiving, giving thanks to Almighty God for the crew’s safe journey, successful completion of their mission and safe return home.
The return of PS Zoroaster reinforces the Seychelles Coast Guard’s continued commitment to maritime security, operational readiness and the strengthening of international partnerships that contribute to the safety and security of Seychelles’ maritime domain.
The Seychelles Coast Guard and the Seychelles Defence Forces also extend their sincere appreciation to the Government of India and the Indian Navy for their enduring partnership and support, which facilitated PS Zoroaster’s mission in India.
