
SDF Hosts UK and CMF Delegation at Headquarters
The Seychelles Defence Forces today welcomed a British and Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) delegation to SDF Headquarters, Bel Eau, during a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Forces, Major General Michael Rosette.
The delegation was led by the British High Commissioner to Seychelles, H.E. Mr Jeffrey Glekin, and included Brigadier Olly Bryant, British Defence Attaché to Seychelles based in Nairobi, as well as Captain Jason Eacock of the Royal Navy, Commander of Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) Combined Task Force 151 based in Bahrain.
Discussions focused on maritime security, defence cooperation, capacity enhancement, and continued collaboration and exchanges within the military domain.
CMF officers are also currently in Seychelles to participate in Exercise ALDABRA V, taking place from 13 to 18 May 2026. The joint maritime security exercise brings together the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF), Combined Task Force 151 (CTF-151), and EUNAVFOR Atalanta, further strengthening interoperability, coordination, and regional maritime security cooperation.
Present on the SDF side were the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces, Brigadier Jean Attala, Chief of Staff Colonel Michael Hollanda, alongside other British representatives, including Major Simon Smith of the Royal Marines, British Liaison Officer to the Regional Coordination Operations Centre (RCOC) based in Seychelles.
