28 New Recruits Graduate and Join the Seychelles Defence Forces

Twenty-eight new recruits have officially joined the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF) after completing 16 weeks of Basic Military Training at the Military Training Support Centre (MTSC), Ile Perseverance.

The graduation ceremony was held this morning at the Seychelles Coast Guard Base, Ile Perseverance, in the presence of the Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency President Dr. Patrick Herminie, Chief of Defence Forces Major General Michael Rosette, Deputy Chief of Defence Forces Brigadier Jean Attala, and Chief of Staff Colonel Michael Hollanda, alongside SDF officers, personnel, and families of the recruits.

Private Valdano Volcere was awarded Best Overall Performance, while Private Shaddy Botshare and Private Samad Marie received the awards for Best Academic and Best Practical Performance respectively. Private Fatima Nourrice delivered the recruits’ testimonial on behalf of the intake.

In his remarks, the Chief of Defence Forces congratulated the new recruits and underscored the importance of discipline, integrity, and upholding the values of the Seychelles Defence Forces.
