Meet and Greet on the Occasion of International Women’s Day 2026

The Welfare Department, in collaboration with the Veterans Committee, successfully organized a meaningful Meet and Greet Dialogue bringing together military service staff, civilian staff and ex-servicewomen in commemoration of International Women’s Day 2026.

The event took place on Wednesday 11 March 2026 at the Harbour Light Restaurant, creating a platform for connection, reflection and appreciation of the invaluable contributions of women in service and beyond.

A highlight of the gathering was the powerful testimonies shared by Maj. Dania Woodcock and Retired Major Margarette Louise, who spoke about their journeys, challenges and achievements during and after their years of service. Their stories inspired attendees and underscored the importance of resilience, leadership and solidarity among women in the defence community.

The Chief of Defence Forces delivered a keynote address acknowledging the vital role women continue to play across the military and civilian workforce. The speech emphasized commitment to empowerment, inclusivity, and continued support for women who have served and those currently serving.

The event concluded with a lunch allowing participants to continue engaging in meaningful conversations and strengthening the bonds between active personnel, civilian staff and veterans.

This gathering served not only as a celebration of International Women’s Day but also as a reminder of the strength, dedication and lasting legacy of women who serve and have served.
