In honor of the 47th anniversary of Seychelles Independence, the Commander in Chief, Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, attended the National Day Parade in Victoria this afternoon. The President of Rwanda, Mr. Paul Kagame, attended this year’s festivities as the National Day’s Guest of Honor.

A total of 23 platoons of uniformed men and women participated in this year’s march,which also included local and foreign military forces from India, the United Kingdom, and France, the Seychelles Police Force, the Seychelles Fire and Rescue Services Agency, and youth organizations affiliated with the Seychelles National Youth Council.

The National Brass Band, under the direction of Master Nilsen Ernest and Band Major Brian Larue, was playing alongside the platoons.
