In his address, the Chief of Defence Force (CDF) emphasized the importance of leadership and exemplary conduct among Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs). He reminded them to consistently embody the highest standards in their behavior, appearance, and bearing. What they do and say should serve as a moral and disciplinary compass for those under their charge.

Quoting the esteemed Greek philosopher Plato, the CDF stated: “He who cannot be a good follower cannot be a great leader.” In line with this wisdom, he urged the newly enlisted privates to commit themselves to being exemplary followers. He called upon them to demonstrate honor and respect towards their Chain of Command and to obey all lawful orders.

Furthermore, he encouraged them to live by their oath and uphold the core military values. By observing and learning from the good practices and conduct of their NCOs, they lay the foundation for a disciplined and successful career in the military.
