ANNUAL VISIT OF SDF UNITS

ANNUAL VISIT OF SDF UNITS

The Chief of Defence Forces Brigadier Michael Rosette and Chief of Staff Colonel Jean Attala, accompanied by members of the Defence Forces council, conducted their annual visit in the different units of Seychelles Defence Forces.

The two-day visit was the first for this year so that members of the delegation could interact with unit leadership and have an overview of their activities and specific objectives. They were also able to better understand the strengths of the different units and the issues that hinder their development and operational capabilities.

The visit was also an opportunity to see the status of various projects that had been implemented from the previous year; most of them were in their final stages and nearing completion.

In his short address, the CDF congratulated all units for their individual roles that enabled the defence forces to achieve most of its strategic objectives for 2022. On behalf of the Commander-in-Chief, he also congratulated all personnel for their devotion to duty and wished to see the same for the year 2023. While acknowledging some shortfalls, he stated that SDF commits itself to strengthen and improve the capabilities of all units in order to achieve overall success for the force.

The CoS in turn encouraged officers to use all resources at their disposal in an effective manner and to remain disciplined and loyal towards their profession. He stressed that although SDF has various units, everyone should be focused on putting all their effort into achieving SDF objectives, as failure reflects on the entire force and not just on a specific unit.
