Today marked the first day of the Defense Forces’ vaccination campaign targeting all SPDF units – the Coast Guard, the Seychelles Air Force, the Army – as well as its administrative staff.
A total of 68 military personnel and civilian staff, primarily from the defense forces headquarters, received their first doses of the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine on the first day yesterday.
The schedule targets all SPDF units and by the end of the week , the Defense Forces expects that around 70% of its service personnel and civilian staff will have taken their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Our participation in this vaccination programme is not simply as frontline workers, but also as part of our duty to protect Seychelles and its constituents.
