Seychelles Defence Forces Set Off for Mauritian National Day and Exercise Papangue

A contingent of Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF) personnel from the Seychelles Coast Guard (SCG) has departed for the 58th Mauritian National Day Celebrations, including the National Défilé to be held in Mauritius. Concurrently, PS Andromache and its crew will represent the SCG during Exercise Papangue 2026 in Réunion Island.

Exercise Papangue is a French-led multinational military exercise in the Indian Ocean, aimed at enhancing joint operational capabilities, interoperability and regional security partnerships.

Following these missions, PS Andromache and PS Etoile will enter dry dock for maintenance and inspections to ensure full operational readiness.

The cast-off was attended by Chief of Staff Col. Michael Hollanda, SCG Commanding Officer Lt. Col. David Arissol and the Force Chaplain Lt. Col. Louis Agathine, who provided blessings and will accompany personnel to provide pastoral care and spiritual support throughout the exercise.
