The Commander in Chief Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, accompanied by the Minister for Fisheries and the Blue Economy, Mr. Jean-François Ferrari, welcomed back the Seychelles Coast Guard Patrol Ship Saya De Malah from their three-week clean-up expedition of the Fish Aggregating Devices (FAD).
The Chief of Defence Forces Brigadier Michael Rosette, Chief of Staff Colonel Jean Attala, and other members of the Defence Force Council were also present at the Fishing Port Berth to greet the group of six Seychelles Maritime Academy students and crew members of Saya De Malah.
The Commander-in-Chief personally congratulated the group on their successful expedition and urged them to continue to protect the blue economy, which is one of our country’s most important economies.
A total of 114 FADs were collected during the expedition around Aldabra Attol, Farquhar, Astove, and other lagoons.
