
On 07 April 2026, the Chief of Defence Forces, Major General Michael Rosette, received a courtesy call from Mr. OUE Sadamasa, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan.
Mr. Sadamasa was accompanied by the Japanese Ambassador to Seychelles, H.E. Sakuta Makoto and Defence Attaché Commander Keiko Kawashima, who was undertaking her final visit to Seychelles in her current capacity.
In attendance were Brigadier General Jean Attala, Deputy Chief of Defence Forces; Colonel Michael Hollanda, Chief of Staff; along with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora.
The meeting focused on maritime security and safety, underscoring the shared importance both countries place on safeguarding maritime domains and enhancing cooperation between their respective forces.
Mr. Sadamasa’s visit forms part of a broader regional tour, reflecting Japan’s continued strategic engagement across Africa.
